Rebel Raw uses bacteriophages during our production process to specifically target Salmonella, E. coli, and Listeria pathogens.
Bacteriophages are naturally occurring and highly precise. They work by attaching only to specific harmful bacteria, leaving everything else untouched. During production, they are applied to the food and allowed time to distribute evenly so they can effectively target unwanted pathogens before packaging.
This approach keeps our food safe without altering the raw qualities of the product. It does not affect taste, texture, color, nutritional value, or consistency. Bacteriophages are FDA approved and widely used in the human food industry on everyday foods like fresh produce, cheese, and ready-to-eat salads.
Because phages are so targeted, they address harmful pathogens while leaving beneficial bacteria intact. This allows us to maintain the freshness, integrity, and raw nutritional profile that make Rebel Raw what it is.
